Mike Press
I have been a Wedding DJ and Bar/ Bat Mitzvah DJ for over 25 years and started my DJ Company Press Productions in 2000. Since then I have had the pleasure of performing at countless Weddings, Mitzvahs, Schools, Holiday parties and other special occasions. I have worked all over Southern California including Ventura, Santa Barbara, Ojai, Los Angeles, and Santa Clarita.
A little about myself: My name is Michael Press and I am the owner and lead performer for my company Press Productions. I began my career as a DJ back in 1998 working for another DJ company. As I grew up in this business, I was fortunate enough to learn from the best DJs, Emcees, and dancers in Southern California. Today, I am the owner, lead performer, and party planner of Press Productions, which has entertained guests at over 500 parties, ranging from Elementary School culminations to 50th wedding anniversaries.
Our Style
What separates us from other DJ complies is our experience at various events that have included guests ranging from 2 to 85 years old. We know how to read a crowd and adapt the music genres according to energy of the room. Our music knowledge includes mixes starting from the 50’s swing era, traveling through the classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s, boogieing to the sidesteps of disco and funk, experiencing the retro dances of the 80’s, nodding your head to the hip hop and grunge of the 90’s, and dancing to the current pop, hip hop, rap and dance crazes of the current era.
When it comes to our style at the party, we adapt to what the event needs and goes with it. My job as the Emcee is to make announcements and encourage dancing only when it is need. My philosophy is the best parties are those that have music, dancing and the least amount of interruptions from the DJ. However, if you want us to get on that mic and lead dances, then we are going to get on that floor and interact to make the party great.
Most Important - The Music
The music at your event is one of the most important ingredients for an amazing event. When it comes to selecting songs, I take time and ask you about the songs you love and enjoy. It's your event, and I want to make sure that your style of music is played. Once I understand what type of music you like, I am able to pull from my library and create a song selection that will keep people dancing all night.
During the party, we read the crowd and figure out a style that accommodates your music taste and keeps the crowd dancing. I will be more than happy to take song requests from your friends and family and play it at the party. This is your party, and we want to make sure the style is tailored towards you.
